Gently gently

Slowly slowly

Easing into place

Falling graceful

Feeling thankful

Recognizing grace

Steady steady

Sure but heavy

Foretold crowns

Soak it through

Make anew anew

Flow on down

Thanks for joining me! Tomorrow I will officially be starting my year-and-a-day journey with this blog and my commitment to document and record my ever growing (humble) daily accomplishments as I continually ponder the meaning of optimization and mastery. I am excited but also nervous!

I have started and abandoned many online projects throughout the years but I am determined to make this one different by remaining consistent and committed. I have been blessed to find accountability partners, a professional coach and a variety of other resources for personal development and am also making this process as simple as possible for myself. Post. Every. Day. That’s it! It may be a video, a series of photographs, a poem or a thoughtful entry like this, but I will publish documentation of my imperfect, but determined growth and development daily utilizing this platform as well as Social Media when appropriate.

In addition to the support and resources, there is also the difference within myself that I am bringing to the table. I am determined to be better than perfect by simply being real. That means rough days, sad days, finding alternative practitioners and finally returning to therapy – the whole messy shebang – will be up for grabs for daily content. Perhaps sometimes the books I’m reading or the work I’m doing will produce beautiful, artistic masterpieces, but the process of optimal mastery is even more about navigating the low points scattered between those peak experiences – and I’m bringing you all of it.

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes, a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
