Fortune Dares Poetry Series: lazy

oldness settles in bone
it creaks
shudders
turns over to press longer
now on a different side
tells you it’s waiting
the right time will come
first – strength must be gathered
time forever ingesting
the young
shifting indecision
unsure of the light
newfangled seems tangled
difficult
Times, all a fight
sigh and sigh and –
yawn
nothing makes tired
tired makes done
wounded ambition festers
gravity oh –
it pulls at
winkles
dragging down
sinking in
just a little longer
surely the strength will come
dementia leading
bones
to their marchless death

Fortune Dares Poetry Series: Death and Romance

I look at you and see
past
Mm
made enough mistakes to
know
we’re not perfect
but somehow
you + me = beyond good
I breathe you in gleening
present
learning how to give
together
we’re not perfect
but someway
you makes since of me
I dream of you and me
forever
turning into galaxies
!KA!BOOM!
we’re not perfect
but someday
you and me will die
so we can enjoy finding each other anew –
